In the workplace…
“During the COVID-19 pandemic, 72 per cent of employers say their organisation’s focus on mental health and wellbeing has increased either significantly or moderately during the pandemic, according to findings in the Hays Barometer Report. Despite this, 42 per cent of professionals rate their current mental health and wellbeing as positive, down from 63 per cent pre-outbreak.” (Credit Hays Talent Solutions)
I’m Katy, a certified coach with a corporate background who knows how important employees are to any business and how important their well-being is.
Coaching is a powerful tool used to help someone make a change or achieve a goal (or even both!). It is done using techniques such as listening, questioning, challenging and reframing, empowering them to uncover the answers for themselves rather than being told what to do.
Diane Costigan, Director of Coaching & Well-Being at international law firm Winston & Strawn, explains,
“A wellbeing strategy is a talent strategy. Without it, you’re putting everyone at a significant disadvantage.”
“She is empathetic, kind, and very adept at getting to the root of an issue. I always left our sessions feeling reinvigorated and ready to tackle problems head-on. She is such an empathetic ear, which made it so much easier to share my struggles and actually make progress. Since our sessions, I’ve been able to get to a newer and much more positive headspace and I really do believe I owe a lot of that to her and her abilities and talents as a coach.”
“My sessions with Katy allowed me to pay attention to what it was that I needed to work on within myself. Sometimes simply having the space to explore your own thoughts and feelings can be really powerful. Katy is friendly and welcoming and I felt comfortable talking to her. Thank you Katy!”
